SOLD! "Not So Old Fashioned" 24"x24" - Oil - by Terry Romero Paul

My sweet painting was just sold by Margaret Danielak of Daneilak Art.  It was in one of her shows at the Blinn House in Pasadena a year ago.  Her collector first saw it there at could not get this image out of her mind.  Lucky for her the painting had not sold. It was featured in this issue of American Art Collector magazine, Janurary.  Also, the companion piece, "Chocolate Glazed" just sold.  She then decided to buy the painting for her kitchen.  Timing is everything.

SOLD ! "Chocolate Glazed" 24"x24" - Oil

I loved painting this donut. It came from a shop called the Doughnut Vault in Chicago. They have a line around the corner in the morning and they close when all of the doughnuts are gone mid day. My art rep Stephanie Breitbard of SB Fine Art had a Holiday Trunk Show and she sold this painting along with 4 other smaller donut paintings!

NVAL "30th Annual Juried National Show for 2014" January 28 to March 1, 2014

I am thrilled that my painting "Still Life: Florence" was juried into the North Valley Art League's "30th Annual Juried National Show for 2014"!  In May 2013 my husband and I travelled to Italy and visited the most amazing city of Florence. We were lucky to stay at a hotel that was a refurbished castle (a small one) and in our room were these gorgeous roses.  I took some fruit we had and made this still life set up.  I was eager to get home and paint this image in my studio.

The Show will be held at the Carter House Gallery, Caldwell Park, 48 Quartz Hill Road, Redding, CA. the show will run from January 28 to March 1.  The reception will be January 28.

Impressions of Provence" Show at the Segil Fine Art Gallery Oct. 5 to Oct. 31

I have eight paintings in this show that I painted on site and from photos taken on the trip. This art show is to showcase the work of a group of artists that traveled together to Provence to paint and see the beautiful countryside.  We stayed at the beautiful Chateau de Gadagne perched above a hillside village with views that would take your breath away.
Painting Gordes
These are some photos from the trip.  That is me sharing a cups of hot chocolate with my good friend Trice Tolle.

"Tahiti Sunset" - Oil - 24" x 36

Tahiti Sunset" - Oil - 24x32. I know this is a little different from my sweet dessert paintings and the paintings from my shoe show, but, I am loving this new series of big sky/cloud paintings that I am working on now! My good friends Bruce and Tanique recently returned from Tahiti and graciously allowed me to paint their photograph. Thank you T and B.

"Kristina Hoekstra: Running Shoes" - Oil - 24" x 30"

This painting, "Kristina Hoekstra: Running Shoes" 24x30, was part of my show "These Shoes Are Made For Talking: Every Pair Tells A Story". The owner of these shoes died July 15, 2011. She was a victim of a senseless car accident when a wrong way driver slammed head on into her. At 31 years old she left a son, Frankie, that was the love of her life and a passion for sports and running. From her earliest age Kristina had a love of life and a need to move. She wore these shoes when she completed the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon. I chose to paint Kristina's shoes from the back as she sprints on to a new world.

"Dorothy's Ruby Slippers" Oil - 24x24

I painted these iconic red slippers from the movie Wizard of Oz for my show "These Shoes Are Made For Talking: Every Pair Tells A Story"

Dorothy’s house falls on the Wicked Witch of the East.  Glenda the Good Witch of the North magically puts the dead woman’s ruby slippers on Dorothy’s feet to protect her from the witch’s vengeful sister, the Wicked Witch of the West.  And so, Judy Garland dances her way through the classic movie The Wizard of Oz.  It is speculated at a least six or seven pairs of the final design were made.  It is theorized that Dorothy wore one primary pair during the shooting.  This may be the pair known as “the People’s Shoes”, available for public viewing at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC.
