Tahiti Sunset" - Oil - 24x32. I know this is a little different from my sweet dessert paintings and the paintings from my shoe show, but, I am loving this new series of big sky/cloud paintings that I am working on now! My good friends Bruce and Tanique recently returned from Tahiti and graciously allowed me to paint their photograph. Thank you T and B.

This painting, "Kristina Hoekstra: Running Shoes" 24x30, was part of my show "These Shoes Are Made For Talking: Every Pair Tells A Story". The owner of these shoes died July 15, 2011. She was a victim of a senseless car accident when a wrong way driver slammed head on into her. At 31 years old she left a son, Frankie, that was the love of her life and a passion for sports and running. From her earliest age Kristina had a love of life and a need to move. She wore these shoes when she completed the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon. I chose to paint Kristina's shoes from the back as she sprints on to a new world.

Here is my latest donut painting fresh off the easel, "One Short Of A Dozen". It is painted in oil and measures 24" x 24" on canvas. Even though I bought a dozen donuts, I ate one so that is how came up with my title. All you need is a cup of coffee and and some friends. Enjoy!
